Prevention of Postpartum Hemorrhage after Vaginal Delivery Using Tranexamic Acid

Background: The postpartum hemorrhage is still remaining a leading cause of maternal mortality, especially in developing countries. Objective: We aimed to determine the efficacy using tranexamic acid vaginal delivery avoid and reduce blood loss hospital stay. Patients methods: A prospective-randomized clinical trial study was conducted on 92 pregnant women that were prepared for delivery. They divided into two groups. Group (A) included 46 received 1 gm (TXA group) third stage labour group (B) 10 IU oxytocin (Non-TXA after baby. Estimation done. Hemoglobin (Hb) hematocrit (HCT) values checked before 24 hours as well other basic laboratory investigations. Results: In our study, there no significant difference regarding Hb at pre- but post-, decrease Non-TXA group. There HCT Blood significantly lower TXA group. Conclusion: Use would help during It cheap readily available drug. use decreases need uterotonics hence morbidity mortality.
